By the time of these strips, Flash Gordon was a massive hit; appearing
in newspapers, novels, movie serials, and comic books, and entertaining
millions. These are the earliest daily newspaper adventures, running
independently of the Sunday strip with the rapid-fire pace that came of
installments that appeared six days a week.
Beginning on May 27, 1940, these first adventures include Princess Lita, Freeland, and War on Earth.
